Hey, guys, Jason here in this video I'm going to review the ESP.
E 2, horizon, fr7 guitar, if I ESP e to arisin, fr7 review, I'm gonna let you hear what it sounds like I'm going to share a clean tone, a metal rhythm tone and also a lead guitar tone.
But before we get to that let's run through the specs of this guitar.
The ESPE 2 horizon fr7 is a solid body and it's alder body material.
And it has the neck through construction, which I prefer, because that seems to give you more sustain with your notes, very important to us rock and metal players and lead guitar players.
We have an ebony fretboard here, that's kind of expected on the higher-end guitars, such as this.
And you've got 24 frets.
Now, these are the jumbo frets.
Ed, jumbo, not Dumbo.
This is another important aspect of this guitar.
Having the jumbo frets is for somebody like me that plays a lot of guitar.
Solos that's imperative to have my other ESP guitar has that have an 1000 deluxe as most of, you know and I don't think I'll ever go back to playing a guitar without the jumbo frets.
So that was definite for me.
Um, we have a Floyd Rose, tremolo bone.
Here, I know, this is like the necessary evil.
And most of us have a love-hate relationship with the floyd.
But you know, I chose this specific guitar.
You know, because it had the floyd, you know, with this model here, I don't use my way me a lot, but I use it enough very very subtly I use it enough to make a difference.
And again, this is part of the reasons why I chose this particular model, you know, the e2 arisin fr7, I wanted the floyd on there, because I was playing the guitar without a floyd and I didn't realize how much I used the whammy I kept reaching for it it's like, oh, it's.
Not there.
So I made sure that you know, I got a guitar with the floyd.
Now, this is a 7 string guitar.
I think most of you got that by the seven, and this is one of my exes.
My second, seven string guitar that I did I own so I'm still kind of getting used to the seven strings.
I just started playing seven string.
A couple months ago and I'll get more into why.
Yeah, I got the seven-string in this particular 7-string after I, give you guys the tones, which that's coming up shortly.
Now, one very very interesting fact about this guitar.
And this is something I've never had before is the Gotoh locking tuners as you can see on the back there.
Now, I don't know much about these things.
In fact, I just watched the video I think there's, one of the gear gods videos on how they work.
All I can tell you is is supposed to help the guitar state in tune that much more.
Let me just show you the front of the neck here.
You can see that the strings aren't wrapped around that much at all no that's due to the type of tuning system, the the Gotoh locking tuners here.
So I'll, probably do a video on that once I learned a little bit more about it.
Actually when I go to change strings on this thing, a few months I'll, probably do a video on that.
And you can like see all the mistakes I'm gonna make.
So you don't make them anyway back to the guitar.
We do the pickups.
This is very important.
We do have the EMG 707 pickups Netta.
Now what turned me onto the EMG 707s for seven strings? Is I know, Jeff Loomis uses or at least he used to use these things and I admire Jeff Lewis's playing style, a lot in his home.
So when I saw the EMG 707 I was like, okay, yep, that's.
Another win for me.
So that kind of wraps it up on the specs.
Of course, you can get, you know, more specs online or whatever.
But now I want to share the tones let's, see how this baby sounds all right.
So now you know how the ESPE to Verizon fr7 sounds clean metal rhythm and the lead tone.
Now if you go back a video or two from this video, you'll, hear this guitar in the full mix, and of course, pretty much most videos after this one I'm going to be using this guitar quite a bit.
Now you might be asking, okay, well, why did you go with this specific guitar? Why the ESPE to horizon fr7? Well for one I've, always wanted a seven string guitar I've been toying with this idea for a long time.
Now every album I've released up to this point has been has been used with a six string guitar and I've never been one to detune or down tune or mess with the tuning maybe I'm just too lazy to do that I, don't know, but something was stuck in my head just to keep it at the regular tuning.
You know what I did prior was, you know, I bought a five string.
Bass.
You guys can't, see it, but it's over there I have a SP ltd, five string bass.
And that gave me that heavy tone, you know to the overall sound, even while using the six string guitar, but I've always wanted to make that jump to a seven string guitar.
Just to get those heavier notes and I just decided one day.
Well, I'm gonna do it.
And one of those reasons I did it now is because I'm now recording my one two, three, fourth studio album.
So this guitar is going to be featured in the album that I'm gonna have out it will be out just a quick update.
It will be released before the end of this year before the end of 2018, but I hope to release it I'm shooting for October I've got like a project plan written out.
You know to get the guitar tracks, bass tracks all that down and a higher arrow drummer for this as well.
Yes, a real drummer.
That was really the core reason.
You know, why I bought this guitar and this specific guitar again, I wanted the EMG pickups that was a must I wanted the floyd rose.
And the one fact I didn't, miss earlier.
When I was going through the specs, this is the ESP it's, not the ESP LTD and not that there's anything wrong with those guitars, I own one it's, a phenomenal guitar.
But this is the actual ESP guitar.
And it was made in Japan it's, one of their Japanese models and they're.
Just, you know, a little bit higher quality guitars in general in my opinion.
So I was really excited about this.
One is quite expensive, maybe nanka.
But I was like, you know what let's just go ahead and bite the bullet and let's pick this up because I'm probably gonna have this guitar forever.
I don't ever see me getting rid of it.
Now it has taken me a while to get used to playing a seven string guitar.
You know, if you're new the 7th string jumping from 6 to 7 strings.
When you first start playing, it you're like man that extra string is just in the way, you know, move it out of the way.
And it takes a while to get used to that being there.
And when you're hitting like when you're hitting other notes on the fretboard, sometimes you hit the wrong string or wrong note because that extra strings there's like, oh crap that extra strings there.
But it only takes a while to get used to it, maybe like 3 or 4 weeks.
So I've been playing this every single day.
And that was like my mission I need to play this thing every day for at least a month before I start recording this album, but that's pretty much it guys for my review of the ESP.
E to horizon.
Fr7, guys, don't, forget to check out my music.
You can look up.
Jason stallworth, my name on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google, Play, all those great places you'll see my albums out there.
And of course, again, stay tuned for updates on the upcoming album, it's going to be called master piece master piece, one word, but piece is gonna be spelled, PE, AC.
E.
So this is kind of a concept album I have coming out.
And also you can go to my website, Jason, stallworth com.
All those links are in the YouTube description, guys.
Thank you.
So much, please, let me know your thoughts on this guitar.
If you have one, or if you have another 7 string guitar, you know, let me drop me a comment, let me know how you like it.
And let me know if you have any questions about this thing, I'll, see you on the next video until then keep it low.
